Afternoon all.

Anybody else with S Lab shoes that have 'ripped' around and above the ball of the foot area. My softgrounds and hardgrounds are both showing 1"+ tears on them after relatively little use, both feet. Soles and the rest of the shoe look practically unmarked. Or have I got wider feet than Salomon cater for?

Does any one run in prescription glasses ? And what brand can you recomend that stays put and gives a good field of vision, alternativly what sports glasses with clear lenses are good for running in when wearing contact lenses ?

My problem is I normally wear contacts for sport, but have found especially when running down hill my eyes water so much it ends up being as bad as if I just ran without anything. I have a pair of Bolle glasses for cycling but these are just not stable enough for runninng.

I've been building my running up lately, last week was 71miles 16500ft ascent. All Fell Running/XC/trail just a small handful of Tarmac.

So, this week is supposed to be a rest week. But this is still going to include 40-45miles and 9-10000ft. Just 5 weeks ago a rest week would have been 25-30m and 5000ft.

There'll be biking thrown in on top of this as well. 2-5hrs steady.

Will I overcook it, I feel great despite the jump in training.

Will I burn out?

Or am I just struggling with the concept of a rest week involving 45miles on the hill? MTFU?

Hmmmm,

Hi all,

After supporting on a number of occasions I have decided to try and complete the round myself. I'm over whelmed at the support I have received for my attempt and would like to thank all involved. If any forum followers are in the area on Saturday please say hello as we pass by. I will be leaving Moot Hall at midnight 24th / 25th. May I also wish the attempt taking place on the 26th the best of look and that we are both blessed with good weather.
You may have noticed I'm waffelling a bit, its the nerves they have really kicked in now with the thought of the task in front of me but after months of training I will stand tall and hope to full fill a dream, like most one that I have carried for years.

Well done to all who completed the round in the recent bad weather regardless of the time it was like being there whilst following the trackers and to those that still have to share their fate with destiny.

I've just noticed that a race I want to enter on Saturday (Hutton Roof, BM) has an ER tag on it. I was wondering what this actually means. Do you have to show experience in a number of races? Is it just up to the race organiser's discretion? Is the rule enforced at all for such a race?

I've only done one fell race before but have plenty of experience in the hills (inc the area of the race) and feel 100% confident for this race, I just don't want to be turned away at the start line because I can't meet some rule that's being enforced.
