Training nr Oxford/First Race
Hi community,
nice sport and forum you have going here! For me fell running makes the perfect substitute for scrambling in the alps (have not been in the UK long). Now Oxford is far from the fells, but maybe there still are some like-minded training-partners hanging out here?
I've just got the next weekend off and plan on doing Holme Moss as my first race. I know that's a bit ambitious, but I'm emboldened by recently having done the Black Mountains route in 3h40 (roughly same length/height). Still any advice (race or newcomer-specific) is most welcome.
Also, I wonder whether somebody can recommend affordable accommodation in the wider Holmfirth area?
Cheers,
Conrad

This might be true, but there are hills nearby, if memory serves. It could be worse, it could be Cambridge, after all!

Hadn't realized Cambridge is all flat. So being in Oxford really is better ;)
