Yeah, we saw quite a few Pennine relayers in the Royal after our run - there was talk of joint events like that being organised sometime. Kinder was totally midge free thankfully. However...there was some dampness*

Ooh a joint event would be great idea. I saw quite a few Glossopdalers in the Royal last night.
My legs are covered in red bites from those blasted midges.

We should do one against each other based on pubs start at the Royal Oak in Glossop first leg to The Grouse then The Lantern Pike, The Lamb and a final dash back to The Royal - the losing club gets the beers in!!!!

Thames Hare and Hounds were formed in 1867.

And, if you work in Hale, there's Altrincham And District AC. We do track and field, road and fell. You'd be welcome at Timperley Track 7pm Tuesdays to find out more. Ask for Don.
Our fortnightly fell runs (Short, medium and long groups) have different organisers and different venues each time and are followed by a visit to the nearest pub for a drink and meal (Optional). You can find more details on the website www.altrincham-athletics.co.uk

Lantern Pike Fell Race was my first fell race. I remember Ricky Wilde won it, but i still remember the realisation dawning on me that i was way out of my depth, which wouldn't have been difficult in those days as i'd have been out of my depth in a bird bath in the fields back then.
