Is this a map, compass, whistle, carry full body cover affair? Feel stupid askin considering weather and out an back nature of the race, but all ways best toa ask
I think so as its an AM. I'm taking everything just in case.
Does anyone know if there is any water (in cups or natural) on the route?
Thinking of heading up for this one.
Is there some specific parking for runners at the football club?
Had a fantastic race today - despite horrific blisters on the descent.
Just wanted to say a massive thanks to the race organiser and the marshals. I was using my iPhone as a GPS to track my race. Took it out at the summit to check my time and must not have zipped up the pocket again when I put it away. It was a mile or so into the descent when I realised I'd lost it and pretty much wrote it off as lost. When I got down the RO very kindly got in touch with the summit marshals and asked them to look out for it. Luckily someone had heard it ringing and picked it up. The RO called us on our way home to tell us it'd been found so we turned round and went back to the park to wait while the marshals brought it back down off the hill. So a massive thanks to everyone involved and sorry for any inconvenience!
Phew...that was a hot one! Lesson learned today, be careful where you put the sun cream. Sweat and sun cream running into your eyes is not pleasant, in fact it's bloody horrible. But sitting in a river after a hot race is fantastic and makes aching legs feel refreshed. At roughly 4 miles of fast descent on hard ground this race doesn't half pound the soles of the feet. Quite funny watching runners shuffling along on burning feet after the race, myself included. Many thanks to all involved.... A tough one, but that's half the fun.
