Re: Baildon Carnival Canter
Looks like it was a reasonble turn-out for the event, & that going by the pics, you had a nice run!
In a 'snap-decision'( it was almost the 'toss of a coin'), I decided to head south instead, & went down to Andy Plummers 'Broomhead Chase' near Stocksbridge.

That was the same distance, but quite a bit steeper at 800 feet, as opposed to Baildons 450 feet )
I'm not sure on numbers, but I had number '55', whether they were issued commencing from '1', I have no idea?
Re: Baildon Carnival Canter
As I missed this last year I'm veering towards it tomorrow as opposed to Addingham.
It may be easier but after the recent rain should be easier on the joints as (as previously metioned by TF) all completely off-road bar the road crossing onto the moor proper and a v short stretch before/after the footpath from/to the carnival field.
Hmm this FRA-registered race appears to have moved to Non-fell running' !!
Re: Baildon Carnival Canter
Good turn out of 50+ for this fast and furious race today - boosted by a large contingent from Hyde Park Harriers (Leeds not London!).
Thanks to all at Baildon Runners for organising, marshalling etc.
This must be one of the fastest races in the FRA calendar with Tom Adams smashing the course record, finishing in 17.32. Even I managed to get sub 7 min miling if the distance is accurate (and only slightly slower than my Leeds parkrun pace this morning :D).
Good to see Tussockface again, spectating only - hope you fully recover from the calf problems asap.
Re: Baildon Carnival Canter
Anyone having a jog out round here on Saturday??
Anyone know if the carnival itself is on? If it is I might be able to persuade the wife and child to come too...
Cheers
Neil
Re: Baildon Carnival Canter
Baildon Carnival race is on this Saturday at 2.15.
Please note however that the Carnival itself has been cancelled this year.

Hope to be there again - is the moor bone-dry yet TF?

As I suspected - though 'fast' may well go by the wayside tomorrow for me at least!
Re: Baildon Carnival Canter
Well that was nice and low-key again - without the carnival happening numbers were down which meant I finished top 15, but also 11th last! :D My garmin had the temperature as 79F so was pleased for the bit of a breeze on the way out. As Dylan said, dry and hard underfoot so road shoes were fine. Times were down for most with winner Quentin Lewis being a min slower than last year and me being over 3 mins down on 2 years ago! Good to have a chat with Tussockface as always, as well as Rob Myers who sped past me after the trig point.
