Anyone who was there will have spotted me... I was the one with a searchlight on my head! It was a Silva 480 incase you wondered :)
Joe, so you've stuck with Silva and opted for the big quartz-halogen option. Some would say a retro step, technology wise, against all the new L.E.D. technology; but they certainly do a 'mega' job whilst the battery pack holds its charge. I borrowed Ali's last year to pace the last leg of No.6's B.G. The support party at Littletown thought that it was a shepherd's quad-bike descending off Robinson.

My LX is pretty fantastic (when it's not broken!) and the battery lasts all night - but I still can't run flat out on rough ground, which I can with the 480. If I'm stuck running (and racing!) at night I might as well spend a bit of dosh and get the most out of it.
I was going to try the Hope LEDs but they didn't return my call and were twice as much considering I already had the battery & charger with the LX.
I've now got 5(!!) running headtorches - my spare is the new Myo XP and that's pretty good except for racing and going "off-piste".
Re: Dashes In The Dark '08
Glad you all got home safely, if slighty side ways! Last race on the 15th Feb. Hope to see you all there.

Last race tonight at 7pm. Make sure you're there!
Re: Dashes In The Dark '08
But it's cold out there :( .
I'd much rather be at home with a bottle of red watching The Scarlets v Glasgow :) .
Re: Dashes In The Dark '08
Thanks to everyone from coming to the Dash Races. I do hope all competitors enjoyed themselves. Thanks to all CRR ladies and gents who gave up their free time to help marshall. Special thanks to John Linley for my surprise present too.:D
Don't forget about the junior CRR race on the 16th March for 6-11 years held at Loggerheads park. More details to follow.
Re: Dashes In The Dark '08
Cheers to Jordan, Danger Mouse, King of the Mountains & all the other CRR's who have had a busy couple of months organising races. Much appreciated.
Enjoyed last night & had a reasonable run, but respect to Stan who cycled the 10 miles there & beat the whole field by a couple of minutes.
Re: Dashes In The Dark '08
A big thanks from me too, really enjoyed them.
The results have been posted on the CRR site now ...here
