It took 6 weeks for me then I raced gingerly. After 8 weeks I was up for it again. Keep up the exercise and maintain cardio vascular fitness. Don't rush. It soon goes.

Pleased to hear the calf's improving DT. Keep it steady for now and gently ease the calf back into action. See you soon on the fells.
Take it steady DT, 'Softly, Softly, catchee Monkey';)
Cheers guys  Did a 16mile walk from home yesterday and will have another little run tonight :)
Join us on Leg 3 of the millenium way if you fancy it DT. Very steady with Russ and Shaun.
Ran 3 mile stage in national 12 stage road relays at Sutton park, took the dogs for a gentle plod round the feild in the afternoon 5 ish hilly miles. Today went for a 12 ish mile hilly road run and my left calf inside is v-tight and sore, started about 8 miles into the run stopped and streched a bit and carried on, don't think I have torn it, but it is uncomfortable to walk on any advice.
Mmmmm when you say inside, do you mean middle of the calf or further down? I managed to strain both my soleus muscles, between bottom of calf and heel, (google it) about 4 weeks ago. Very sore felt like they were briused no swelling though, 2 weeks rest v gental stretching, then steady short runs on the flat (hills will put too much strain on them initially). Best bet I think is a trip to the Physio. Good luck;)
Best thing to do is go and get some treatment on it, If you want to talk through the injury give me a ring 8 - 9pm iwill be in 01229 480422
