Re: 3ppp CX training on Pendle
I did it in walshes n clips last year a great boon on the off road bits like Simon fell/Inglebough/Wernside and you can ride the pedal backs too and run better over the the rough stuff but not so good on the roads.
I would go for a good ride n carry on the hills and see how it feels
Re: 3ppp CX training on Pendle
Thanks for the replies, it's much appreciated.
I've built up my cx bike, but I'm unwilling to take over any rough stuff just now as I'm taking it to France on my summer holidays. We're camping at the base of Alpe d'Huez when the Tour goes up, I''ve entered the Alp d'Huez triathlon (short) & hope to get a few other rides in, possibly the Marmotte route. Hence I'm wanting to keep it in decent nick.
While I'm here, another question.....my frame doesn't have bottle bosses, for road rides I've cable tied a cage to the stem & I've got a behind the saddle carrier which takes 2 bottles - one of which I use for a spares bottle. I'm assuming as soon as I go off-road all my bottles will be ejected & I'll need a Camelbak. How much fluid do you need for the 3P's & is there a drinks station?
Re: 3ppp CX training on Pendle
I took a ltr bladder with me last year but allways handy to have someone with a bottle on the final climb
Just the one water station at the base of Wernside it is compulsory dismount there too
