My understanding is that if you enter a race held under FRA "jurisdiction", are compliant with the entry requirements and are accepted as a legitimate entry, then the race organiser is covered by the UKA Public/Products Liability insurance against any claim from you for damages (albeit that you have entered the race on the understanding that you take part at your own risk and that many claims for damages would be ruled out).
If you want to insure yourself against injury, loss of earnings or death that occurs as a result of injury suffered in a properly organised race, you need to provide that cover yourself, not expect the race organiser's cover to provide it.
