Went yesterday. Got my ice skates on and spent the next two hours going round and round a patch of ice holding on to the sides!!!!!!! God only knows how you go fast on the stuff, carry a stick and hit a puck.

Years ago I had tried this skating lark and after spending a bit of time hugging the rail, I decided to be a little bit more adventurous and go hands free, so to speak.
Getting a little cocky I started to think I wasn't too bad at this and thought I'd try a little speed. Next thing my feet seemed to go in a most unexpected direction and my arms flung out in a desparate attempt to regain balance. It was at this moment that a huge black guy happened to be gliding by. He received, from my flailing arm, the most almighty punch on the nose.
My life passed before my eyes at this point as the big guy with the sore nose turned his attention to the little guy who'd just whacked him. It took a few very anxious moments of appologies and expressions of regret in order to avoid a filling in. :eek:
