Sounds good Trig. I've put this on the Tod Harriers forum as well. Let's see how many Tod/Calder runners we can get out on the hills around Heptonstall. Is there still the glory finish down the hill in the field near the bee hives?

Thanks Joey - lets see if I can get the private field finish agreed (normally out of bounds for recces).
What do you reckon to us putting a Marqee in the field on the day?
(so runners can get hot drinks, cake, results while they cheer everyone in - rather than sending everyone straight into the village)

Hi Trig,Any chance you can empty your PM box.
Cheers.
Re: Heptonstall Recce 29th Jan
I think a marquee would be a great addition to the end of the race. The walk from the finishing field to Weaver's Square seemed a long way for a brew last year :D. I think it'd keep more runners milling around to cheer in the finishers after them too. Do we know some one with an actual marquee? I think I know of a couple of gazebos I could borrow but they are back garden size rather than full on marquee size.
Looking forward to the Rev's words of comfort before we set off again too!

Just what we were thinking - much better if you see all your mates cheering you on at the end of 15 miles.
We know a cheap marquee hire - but tell me about your other gazebos etc as these could be ideal for changing/bags (might be freezing cold so would allow finshers to quickly get some warm gear on) - are they "open" capanoies or can they take "walls" for privacy?
Re: Heptonstall Recce 29th Jan
Last recce proved a big hit with 4-pawed runners - bring em along if they need a walk
Re: Heptonstall Recce 29th Jan
Thanks for the 'PM', think it might be a bit early in the day for me, especially to get over there from Wakefield ('hours plus' drive)
Besides, I don't know if Management (if you remember Ray Moore on Radio 2 calling the wife that) has anything planned for me that weekend (If I'm not working it)
Re: Heptonstall Recce 29th Jan
Hope you can make it over for the race itself; it's got a more civilised start time than the recce. It was a cracking inaugral event last year.

Good point re start time for recce - was actually thinking of being kind and delaying start to 09.00am (seems a few people might be travelling from afar).
I could easily let the CVFR and Tod Harriers know of a new start time....
If you're thinking of coming let me know if you would prefer a 09.00am start (Sunday 29th Jan)
