Road Bike pedals.

Hi, i was wondering if anyone can help me!

I got a road bike and put Shimano SPD pedals on i,t the same as are on my Mountain Bike, as i only had one pair of shoes that i was using for both MTB and Road. I bought a new pair of shoes (Scott ones) specifically for the road bike and am confused - the sole has three holes in it which i can't fit Shimano SPDs to.....so i am guessing i either need to -
Send the shoes back?
Buy new pedals?
If i need to buy pedals....how do i know which ones will fit the shoes? MTB seems so much more straightforward! Please help:)

As far as I know all road shoes have a 3 bolt pattern and will not work with MTB pedals so new pedals is the way to go.
Any road pedals should work fine with those road shoes. Go for look keo's or speedplay if you want to splash out

If you go to somewhere such as Wiggle they differentiate between MTB and road pedals.

The choice really is whether you want road shoes, or MTB shoes - which are generally easier to walk in when you're not on the bike.

ps, I wouldn't buy from Wiggle because they seem over-priced these days.

You'll go faster than with your MTB shoes/pedals combo. Better power delivery and all that. Your next question will be which colour cleats to get: red, grey or black (9,4 & 0 degrees respectively) but that depends on how much float (play) you want and how your knees cope with them. Go safe and get the grey for now.

Don't forget the NLRC Tuesday runs in your 8 week (sorry 5 week) jollies!!!!

Look Keo Classic or above, don't buy the Keo Easy - I think they're cheap and crap.

Hmmm - thanks for all your help peeps - not sure what to do! The road shoes are SO PRETTY! and match my bike so well but am thinking i may be better swapping them for MTB shoes and sticking with the pedals i have as i like them........... HHMMM will have a think! thanks
