Rubbish run, calf is stuffed from 3 races in 6 days....
Let's get this thread back to the most viewed!! :D
Indeed! Didn't run at all today or yesterday or the day before that ...or for the last two months. Grrr!
My calves are still stuffed after ALS - went for a walk today with the kids over Loughrigg and down to the cave, back to work tomorrow :(
Bat Run around Beacon Fell tonight,it was good to get back to normal after Christmas and New Year
Half an hour at lunchtime. Boring.
Ran along the canal tow path. It was made more interesting today by the puddles - had to keep going round them, and looking at the number of coloured wheelie bins which had ended up in the canal over the festive period.
12 miles over the fells on the Crosser upto the spindles in bog :D
The same last nite mostly in the dark!
10k on a treadmill  - glad to be back, now got to sort out this avatar business
I ran. Just a bit.
No run today, but did a 30 minute hill session on Lumb Carr Road (all up hill - 1km) so am crackered today.
Quick run round the block to wake me up this morning. May go out again later. :)
OH! And I got a PB in 10k on Sunday... Still ran a completely shit slow time, and was near the back BUT I AM GETTING BETTER!
7 miles yesterday lunch time and then interval trainning 7-8.00 in the evening with Milton Keynes AC (so all on the flat unless you count the bridges over the Grand Union canal).
Cheers - Raymond
Well done Dom for re-starting this thread. Shame I can't add to it as recovering from Planter Fasciitis- nearly 2 months out!
I work for the Open University and come up to MK two days a week; this happens to fit in with MKAC training nights. Back home on the sunny south coast various domestic commitments mean that training with one of the local clubs isn't really an option. This by way of putting the record straight and to stop people getting the idea that I'm into driving the best part of three hours to run six four minute efforts with two minute recoveries between each one...I really like running...but the driving I can take or leave.
Cheers - Raymond
p.s. anyone want to contribute suggestions to my 1st Race thread over on the beginners forum would be very welcome. I've looked at Geoff's nomination - Edale Skyline - and I'm not sure if he's having a laugh or not?
He's not having a laff...
Looking at your running history I think Edale would make a great first race. If you can get round Beachy Head in sub 4, you are well capable of it.
The route is fairly straight forward, especially up to the Mam Nick cut-off. You will love it!
MH
p.s. You might even spot a mountain hare if your're lucky;)
I've managed a whole 2.5 miles to work this morning and will be doing a whole 3 miles tonight on the way home.
After a very bad Christmas I just managed 4 mile this morning at 10min/mile pace. Chest was tight and I cleared some right muck out.
Happy New Year to all on the forum.:)
Hi All,
Training so far for 2007:
Jan 1st - Hangover Hobble Fell Race, Llandegla.
Jan 2nd - Clwydian Hills Fell race course plus a little bit.
Jan 3rd - 3 miles around work after nights and I'm just off out for a 5.5 mile hilly road run.
I'm in training for Edale Skyline, ran the first half a couple of weeks ago and made the Mam Nick 2:30 cut off comfortabley with out really trying, more worried about lasting out to 21 miles though.
Testing testin testing
Intervals tonight... Dom was just tooooo close for comfort on Sunday...:D
just an easy gym session tonight - 16 mins each on bike cross-trainer & treadmill - achilles seems fine tho (see 'todays injuries')
Crammed in about 3 hilly miles at dinner time.
ROLL ON next week when I start my new job and work doesn't start until 11 - I will be able to run in the mornings (and I WILL NOT be laying in bed until 10:45 then running the 1/4 mile to my new work place... HONEST! :D )
Not a lot for me. Six mile steady. Left calf killing and felt sick. Off to bed to sul about it.
This years so far.
1st jan - 0 miles
2nd 5 x 1 mile with 45 secs recovery averaging 4.46 per mile
3rd 10 miles
4th tempo run
5th 10 miles
6th cross country session
7th 17miles
2 hours in and around Lyme Park from the Boar's Head.
Saw a runner disappearing over Sponds Hill as I approached from Bowstones.
Anyone from the forum?
Weds - 7 flat miles in MK at lunch time then a gym session back in Brighton on the way home.
The thread is today's training, not tomorrows training!! ;)
Just been for a run along the canal. Windy or what!!! Seemed like I did a PW on the way out. Expected to be able to charge back with the wind behind me. But no, I didn't seem to go very fast.
