I hadn't even mentioned Ben. I've chatted with Ben a few times (we shared a tent at Edale.....oh the shame :o).....yeah, he's had a great run and I wouldn't seek to take that away from him at all.

I spoke with Rob after the 1/2 Tour, including about the Winter Hill Race which he had not won for the first times in years. He said he had been on holiday but more importantly that he had been suffering with a virus infection which he was taking a long time to get over. This, of course, not only affects the races he does (Rob tends not to overrace) but the training leading up to those key races.

ooh, i stand well and truly corrected, on the deeside website it said 18. Its a real shame that he cant complete the championship. He was a really nice modest lad at carnethy, certainly someone to look out for. btw when is the wharfedaler out marshy
