Welsh Challenges
Guys
Can anyone help ? A group of us are planning a 24/48 hour challenge to train up for and complete over the next couple of years in Wales and are trying to obtain details of what exists and the route details for them.
We have heard of the Paddy Buckley, the Dragons Back, The Cambrian Way and Offa's Dyke. Mention has been made of the Merionydd Round and other ideas have been suggested like covering a peak in each of the main mountain areas e.g Arenigs, Tarrens, Cader, Moewyn, Rhinogydd Etc.
Is there anything in the south based onthe Beacons/Blacks that could build up to a such a challenge ?
Another suggestion that may soon be possible is the Coast Paths using the soon to be opened Cardigan Bay route and the Pembroke one. Any thoughts ?
I apologise if this information is already available just point me in the right direction.
If it has been the the FR then help on what editions would be great.
If people have routes with grid references etc that they would be willing to give us via email so that we can see what is involved that would be great.
TT

Re: Welsh Challenges
South Wales Traverse a well established run. Always fancied doing the pembrokeshire coast path myself. cardigan to tenby would be idyllic...but very long!

Beddgelert bounds looks a good run, 1/2 a paddy bckley really.

Re: Welsh Challenges
all the above are possible, I too fancy the Pembroke coastal path, though not 'fell/mountain' it would be a very good challenge (believe me, there's some ascent involved;) ). Also fairly easy with logistics as it is never far from anywhere and plenty of small hamlets & villages to pass through.
A running mate of mine from Pembrokeshire did it in 3 days - solo carrying his own tent etc.

Tipton TOG - I was wondering when you'd end up here - thanks for joining the last Batrun and hope to see you in a couple of weeks.
Challenges - lots of them.... listen to Wheeze and Molehill (but don't automatically say yes to anything they have planned - I did and look what its done to me!!)
