LDWA - The 2 Crosses Event (Tottington) 25/18mile
I'm aiming on doing the 2 Crosses on the 14th - 25 if my gammy leg holds out. I did a half recci last week end over Turton Moor and Entwistle REs from Hawkshaw - very boggy in parts. I may do the Eastern half next weekend. Where does the course go for the shorter option? Also where is the route from cp 3 - got lost there?
Regards
Chris
Winter Tanners 20 / 30 miles Jan 14th - Surrey
Anyone doing this? I'm going to do the 30 with a few Club Mates. Done this Winter version 5-6 times now, new route every year, normally quite hilly. Only 2 CPs with minimal food (rich tea biscuits and weak squash from a car boot). Narrative route description.
Organised by Surrey LDWA
I'll be the one with the brand new Flyrocs - decided I needed a decent pair of off road shoes as my road shoes would not be up to the job despite a sterling performance on the (dry) LDWA 3 Forests 100km in October.
Cheers,
Simon

Re: All LDWA events thread.
Yeah I think thats the long route.
Re: All LDWA events thread.
Is anyone thinking of doing the The Rombalds Stride (advertised as 25 but only 22miles). Its on Sat 3rd Feb and gos over Ilkley moor and over Otley Chevin - (about 3500ft of climb) - big local event 50/50 runners/walkers. About 300 did it last year.
I've now got an entry form but they dont appear to be widey available. Its organsied locally by 15th Airdale Scout Group. Let me know if anyone want any more details
Re: All LDWA events thread.
I am dithering about whether to do this one. I've done it at least twice before,so no problems with the route (although lots of people take short cuts!). Loads of runners.

the main short cuts are from Hope Hill (Baildon moor), the climb after white wells (ilkley) and Quarry carpark (Chevin). Some double back and go up the steps to top of Chevin. I dont think this one gains a lot. Total distance with the short cuts is under 22 miles. Some like to believe its 25m working out an impressive pace - well thats what i do!
