Today's rain!
Flippity flip, it sure as heck rained this afternoon!! I was driving down the hill through Pately Bridge in a massive deluge almost riding the crest of a wave  earlier and then a bit later had a deja vu experience driving down Albert Hill into Settle. Seathwaite the 'wettest place on earth' has been catching some too --> BBC weather

Somewhat wet on Holcombe Hill too... wasn't too keen on the thunder though.

Re: Today's rain!
Checkpoint 1 on the Lakeland 100 is going to be a bit moist then. It's not been so bad down here in Manchester - more a case of showers and the atmosphere sweating on occasion. It's certainly been warm and humid for a while. No hint of thunder down here.

Re: Today's rain!
I was fishing in Wensleydale at the weekend, there was a lot of water about, most of it leaking in through my sunroof

Re: Today's rain!
It was somewhat grim here tonight too, when I was stood on the platform at Normanton station, waiting the 'steam special' to stop , with BR 46115 'Scots Guardsman'

Bouncing it down again now! (I think it's rained, to some degree, every day for the last 8 here!)
Glad it wasn't like that during the Holme-Moss race:)

Re: Today's rain!
I got away from work yesterday just in time as a couple of local roads that dip down under railway bridges were flooded and people were stuck in traffic jams outside work for quite a while.

Re: Today's rain!
I went to Cockhowe & Beyond Fell race last night and on the way I encountered a bridge that was knee deep in water and I had to follow a fireman and wade through pushing my motorbike whilst all the car drivers were sent on a diversion. I then had to bike 30 miles with boots filled with water but it did prevent that initial namby pamby bit of a fell run where you try and stop your feet getting wet before you realise that that is all part of the experience and wade on in...biked home with forked lightning and huge peals of thunder scaring the bejeebies out of me and rain so heavy I couldn't see the road. Hmmm....July?!?
