That's bad news, Hank. Get well soon.
I've entered. Is anyone going to make a weekend of it? I'll be staying in the Queen's Head on Friday and Saturday.
By the way, what does "en hiver" mean?
In winter.
Thanks Paul. My only French knowledge is what I learned up to 1979 'O' level, and 'Hiver' rang no bells at all. Surely we must have learned that. Still, memory over 31 years can fade if it's never reinforced. (That's my excuse anyway.)
BTW, forgot to say, thanks to theNoor for the heads up with this. I would never have known otherwise.
Yes Iain, only yesterday by email regarding my entry and how to pay.
I've cranked up the Tracklogs and been plotting - shortest route while following the guidelines. Get ready for 37.1 miles with 8,445 feet of ascent, max altitude 2,461 feet, min altitude 480 feet. I'm imagining far-reaching views and wall-to-wall sunshine, so I can't wait. :w00t:
Certainly, Iain. The A591 is strictly out of bounds, and dead right too, so the woodland trail is what I plotted. There would not be much difference in distance anyway. I'd choose off-road over the monotony of Tarmac any day.
Yes, Iain, Joe replied to my email, saying
"I can't fault your three stated events to prove you are suitably 'certified'."
Luckily he hasn't seen my times - I think I'll be battling the cut-offs again!
