Are you camping or staying in 'proper' accomodation at night?

    Pennine Way

Just to anyone who might care know, I'm hoping to run the Pennine Way over the next few days. I'm off to Kirk Yetholm tonight, starting in the morning and hopefully finishing in Edale on Sunday night.

If anyone happens to be on the route and wants to join me, I'm sure you will be able to track me down! VERY rough overnight stops are campsites near to Alston, Hawes and Hebden Bridge. It's all a bit last minute though (South West Coast Path plan didn't work) so I'm actually waiting for the postman to arrive with the maps...

Assuming he gets here, should be an interesting few days!

    Cheers,
    Stu

Oh yes and it's for charity, as a "warm-up" for the alps next year...

Well Shelf, good luck to ya .... walked the thing back in `79 and have not been back into the trail stuff long enough to consider such a feat .... you'll have to let me know your kit choice and how it all stood up ... will need all gory details:w00t:

Good luck Shelf, I've fancied the idea of this since Joss did it in my youth.
Phil, You'll be most welcome, may be we could team up for the long haul.

I've got a book about when Mike Cudahy set the sub 3 day record, interesting reading.

And what a book it is. I read it from the library then spent a number of years trying to track a copy down and bought an original two years ago.

I used to work with Mikes son Sean in the late 80's. At that time I didn't know what a legend his father was.

Shelf, Enjoy your time out and I look forward to hearing how it went.
