Biriani for endurance, pathia for speed.
My first LDWA event, and it certainly won't be my last. Thanks to all the organisers this was a top day out, good food and a good run, can't be beaten!
Agree, another really well organised even by East Lancs, with excellent home cooked food – really appreciated (is cheese in soup a Lancashire thing?) Speaking to one of the organisers though, this could be the last. Any more info on this?
Glad that there is a good response to the event.
I was quite surprised to find (when I got to checkpoint 2) that only 91 of the 214 starters had opted for the full course. I was sweeping at the back hence the figures. I wonder what percentage were running. I found it much harder than the Hobble the previous week but that was my fault as I was wearing walking socks which should have gone in the bin a couple of years ago. So I'm left nursing a big blister on my heel which I'll have to rest for a couple of days. At least I've already acheived my target mileage for March
I enjoyed this, my first impromptu outing since Rombald's Stride. I set off on the 18 and made it to CP1 before calling it a day. Both injuries were making themselves felt and there was no point in aggravating them unnecessarily. Many thanks to the supporter who gave me a lift back to base, and many thanks to the outgoing organisers. I hope and pray for replacements so this excellent event can continue.
