I am off to Oz on business in March & have a day to enjoy the delights of Melbourne. As my interest in Neighbours died when Dez & Daphne left, I don't want to waste it doing the usual.
Does anyone know of a decent 15 miler in the countryside nearby?

As a starting point you could try:
http://www.mountainrunning.coolrunni...id=16&src=Home,
I got some help through this a few years ago.
Also:

looks more speccific for your trip.
Mind you, I hope it cools down a bit before you go! They had 35 degrees c at night last week.
Try Melbourne Derbyshire its much nearer
It could be worth posting on an auzzie running forum.

I spent some time living in Melbourne around the Millenium. It is a wonderful city, possibly one of the best in the world, if you only have one day to pay it a visit, I would say it would be a waste of a good oppurtunity to 'experience' a great place if you spent it out in the suburbs or countryside around them bashing out a long run. It is a huge place, and depending on where you want to run will depend a lot on where you are staying. If I where you I'd travel down to the mornington peninsula for the day ( easy, fairly short journey on the metro ) and run around the coast near sorrento, beautiful down there
Cheers rev, however... I have visited east coast with wife & we plan to visit Melbourne with new sprog in the not too distant future. I am taking advantage of the opportunity for a country/bush run without family. I did the same off the coast of Queensland a couple of years ago on Lizard Island when I got a trott up & down Cook's Look.I would say it would be a waste of a good oppurtunity to 'experience' a great place if you spent it out in the suburbs or countryside around them bashing out a long run.
Impossible is nothing!

Might have to be in Brisbane in July/August - bit cooler then but any hills there? Races??
Just back from a cheeky 15 miler along the Yarra Trail from Melbourne city centre to Kew Gardens. Super run out and good prep for an attempt at the 4County Tops over Easter. Thanks for all the help, tips etc.

Just a Kookaburra. Spent most of the time visiting Schools & the Victoria Dept of Education. The Deaf school was cool with an inspirational Principal. Got along the Yarra Trail a couple of times though.I'm so jealous! Have you seen any wildlife?
Back to Black hill tomorrow night. I missed it.
