    Orienteering for fell runners

Orienteering race with a course for fell runners- long but easier navigation/ less technical. Likely to be about 12k with winning time over over an hour.

If you are interested see www.sroc.org and follow links to Tim Watkins Trophy / Blodslitet or pm me.

At the moment we have few entries on that course and it could be axed so if you are planning to do it could you let us know.

Great area - Farleton/ Hutton Roof area

There's also a series run by Aire (Yorkshire) - with an event this Saturday (23rd Jan) at Shipley. Suitable for beginners, with help available, with some harder courses too.

    Orienteering for fell runners

Is anybody planning to do this?

I have been doing some of the shorter orienteering events lately and they are good fun. I tend to fair a little better than another fell runner I know who is far better than me simply because I can read a map better.

If you have that day free I hope to so some of you there.

    Entry Form: http://www.sroc.org/menu8/BEF2010.pdf
    Online Entry is here: http://www.oentries.com/event/detail...ins-blodslitet

    Re: Orienteering for fell runn

For those that are interested, Karen is just trying to gauge how many plan to enter this race as this year there is an additional course for Fell Runners.

If there aren't enough runners planning to do this course then it might not be feasible to spend the time placing the additional markers on the course to accomodate this, so if you are entering the 'please' enter online or at least notify Karen of your intention ASAP so that plans can be made before the event.

    Thanks
