    Accelerate Endurance weekend

30th January: The Big Endurance Weekend.

Combined with the Brooks Shoe Party Olympic Medalist and London Marathon Winner Charlie Spedding will be instore signing his new book.

Sheffield half marathon winner Jason Ward will be leading a training run and available to answer your questions. Holywell Active Health will ...also be on hand for Gait Analysis and Injury Prevention advice.

    Details
London Marathon winner and Olympic Bronze medalist Charlie Spedding will be visiting Accelerate on Saturday 30th January.
Charlie recently launched his running auto-biography 'From Last to First' and will be on hand signing copies and talking running to anyone who wants to chat.
Charlie hails from the North-East and was a regular winner with the now famous Gateshead Harriers, including the British Cross Country Championships. From here he went on to individual National titles before representing Great Britain. He moved up to the Marathon distance, winning his first two Marathons, one of which was London. Having qualified for the Los Angeles Olympics, where he competed in what is considered one of the toughest and most competitive Marathon's of all time. Able to raise his game, focusing on the big events, Charlie finished in a highly regarded 3rd place, taking home a Bronze medal.

Charlie will be in store between 10.30am and 3.30pm, signing copies of his book, 'From Last to First'.

    Jason's Training Run

For anyone running a spring Marathon there is plenty more going on. Joining Charlie will be Sheffield Half Marathon Winner, Jason Ward. Jason has agreed to lead a run from the store starting at 9.30am - but don't be put of by Jason's personal best of 1 hour 5 minutes for the half marathon, we are going to tie his legs together! Jason will be staying untill 3.30pm as well and will be hand to answer any questions you have about running, training and racing. The one thing we can say about Jason is that he has a great ability to put elite half marathon training into prespective and relate to us mere mortals and how we should be training. A cool headed racers who know's running.

Jason's Training Run. Meet at the store for 9am, to run at 9.30am. Post run juice, tea and biccies for all comers. (I have already heard the Smiley Paces will be along...)

Brooks Shoe Party, Bio Mechanics and Injury Prevention
Now for the serios stuff... Not only will Brooks be on hand with their infamous 'Shoe Party' (and they have promised balloons), we have invited Colin and Jackie along from Holywell Active Health. So it's full on Gait Analysis with expert Colin, top technical shoe advice with Gavin from Brooks and Jackie is on hand to talk injury prevention, stretching and how things like soft tissue therapy can help.

We will also be unveiling, for the first time, the new BROOKS GLYCERIN ® 8 which is a true cushioning wonder. The BROOKS GLYCERIN 8 is the first shoe in the Brooks range to feature the new DNA. This comprises of individual molecules which join together as soon as pressure is exerted on them. Together with BioMoGo, the DNA distributes the pressure in the best way possible and, in doing so, adjusts itself to meet your individual requirements. You won't find better cushioning!

    So to Summarise...
    The Big Endurance Weekend
    9am for 9.30 - Jason's Training Run
10am - 3.30pm - 'From Last to First', book signing, with Charlie Spedding
Don't forget both Charlie and Jason will be on hand to talk all things running, training and racing...
9am - 6pm - Brooks Shoe Party, Bio-Mechanics and Injury Prevention, with Gavin, Colin and Jackie

We hope to see you along, as ever the 'Kettle's on!' and we'll be having Party Cake too...

Ian, can you just explain the science behind the "individual molecules which join together as soon as pressure is exerted on them", in a little bit more detail please, as I am considering buying a pair.
