    Wild Trails to Far Horizons

Has anybody bought the re-print of this book? I did and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. However I was puzzled when I got to page 179 in the section "The Pennine Way Revisited" as the story just cuts off. I telephoned the publishers Hayloft Publishing (number in book) and they told me there are some pages missing from the book. Apparently it's Mike Cudahy's fault as he didn't proof read it properly! They are waiting for the final pages from him and will post them to me when they are ready.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has bought the book so thought you might like to know!

I haven't read the book, though I'd like to, but I thought I'd mention that my local Oxfam has a copy of it in a glass cabinet with an assortment of antique books. The price was obscured so I asked a worker to unlock the cabinet and tell me the price - £50. I said thanks very much, you can put it back now, ta! There are no other sought after running books in there, just that one.

Between £40 and £69 for an original if you search abebooks. Great book but certainly didn't pay anything like that a year ago. Does the interest generated from a reprint really lead to such a dramatic rise in the value of a first edition?

I too have the reprint with the missing pages.

Have been meaning to contact Hayloft to ask about the problem.

Will do so now; be nice to have the missing pages.

Lent my original hardback to someone many years ago and never got it back. I honestly can't remember who it was.

    Hope they are enjoying it.

I think the edition with the missing pages is likely to become a collector's item. Any offers for mine? (after I've read it that is).
Tao begets one. One begets two. Two begets all things.
