Every night, the opening credits on "Look North" in Yorkshire feature what appears to be a fell race. You only see a couple of seconds of footage and I find that by the time my eyes have started to focus on it, it's over.
Does anyone out there know what the race is? It's been driving me mad for ages.

I don't think it was a race, i think they contacted Ted and just filmed him and some of his pal's runnning up a hill. I bet he wore matching socks that day!
Hmm.. so if it's just pals running up a hill, my next question would be:
which hill?!? There seems to be one in the background that looks distinctively pointy and memorable.
Don't be silly! Now BigO, you know Ted doesn't have any matching pairs!
A good question as to where it is though. I sort of thought it was a race (I can't figure out who the 2 other runners are though...?) but don't know which. It looks a bit like Embsay crags in the background (...but I don't think it is...) Next time Ted turns up for a club run I'll try and remember to ask 'im.

That's a good point, it is memorable, but unfortunately I can only remember having seen it on the opening credits of 'Look North", so that doesn't really help. What we need to find is someone who's seen the pointy, distinctive hill in real life.

Some interesting possibilities thrown up by your google search. The first item for example is a strong contender, so long as it's reasonable for us to assume that Ted and his mates from Wharfedale hitched a ride with the Apollo 15 lunar mission and took the opportunity to go out for training runs.
