Christ, Rochdale. You should go for a good curry. Loads of them and probably owned by one of my students!
Good meal choice in Rochdale would be Hopwood Hall College, Town centre campus. Silver service, the works. Good prices as the students serve you as part of the course they study.

We have one at our college too, it's really good. Food is excellent and it's cheap as it's all part of the studies etc. Sorry clarky, not Rochdale though!

Can recommend Nutters (money not being a concern) if traveling from Blackburn way, as it is this side of Rochdale on Edenfield Road over Owd Betts.
Can't really remember the Crimble, couldn't have bowled me over (but couldn't have been bad either).
Do like the Bella vista - nice atmosphere, primarily an Italian but offers far more than your pasta and pizza. Nice spot too (on the way to Hollingworth lake, which I use as a good excuse to get out for a run, around the lake and surrounding hills ). Sorry - can't vouch for the vegetarian.
