    Name that hill!

    Stood at Beamsley Beacon tri this morn,looking due North.What is the snow covered large mound as you look straight ahead? ( One for you Derby Tup).
    ( Haven't a map for that area)

    Round Hill is a mile or so away. Simon's Seat nearer three but suspect you were looking at Great Whernside Peejay runs a splendid race up it every year

    Not exactly north of Beamsley Beacon but its probably Great Whernside. GW and Buckden Pike can be seen from miles in all directions have have been complete blocks of solid white on the horizon for weeks now

    Looking at a map Round Hill is more or less East of the Beacon, and Great Whernside North of Skipton

    Cheers gents.Thought it could be GW but wasn't sure.Carried on to Round Hill today then back to Langbar and over bridge to Dingham. T'was glorious.

    For interest. Here's a profile/map segment covering the line from BB to GW - there *appears* to be part of Barden Fell in the way of the line of sight?
