    Mudclaw 330 (tight)

Hi I've just recieved my Mudclaw 330's size 8.

they seem quite tight! I heard there a little narrow.

if I take out the foot beds (6mm) with very thin cotton socks they seem ok but I doubt I'd be able to run with sport socks & a footbed.

I believe they do a 3mm footbed too.

    do people run without footbeds?

They are fairly narrow, but then I have a big bunion which tends to burst through the side of most shoes in a matter of weeks.
I use mine without the footbed with no problem, unless I'm running more than 2 hours. In theory you should be running on soft ground with them, but a long stretch of road or hard rock could prove difficult. I also find mine worryingly slippy on wet stones.

We'll I've just measured my feet and according to the inov8 size guide I should have a 8.5 not an 8.

(I got an 8 as I've had some flyroc's size 8 for years).

like you said they may just need braking in. I might try some 3mm footbeds too.

I would imagine I'll have to stick to thin socks though.

how much room should there be between my big toe & the end of the shoe?

I like 3 mm foot beds. Like chunky socks though! All shoes break in to a certain ammount.

Took the insoles out and did a few miles on the moors today. very comfortable with no problems at all!

not too comfy on the downhill hard track though!

I always have to go half a size up with Inov8s on some of their more recent designs. If ordering on the internet some of the websites actually point out that you need to go half a size bigger with them, so it must be a fairly common problem.

Nothing beats a proper fitting in a shop if you can spare the time, but glad they are working out for you anyway.
