Never mind the mockery, I think I know what you mean. For years I tried to run with good posture ie upright back and shoulders down and back. Then a physio told me I was holding my shoulders TOO LOW. So when I remember I now raise my shoulders up slightly as you describe, and of course my elbows follow. I was delighted to find that I feel as if I am running faster this way. It is almost like having very small wings. I think the benefit is actually that I am stretching out my upper body and allowing my lungs more space, but perhaps there is more to it. Anyway, if it is working, go for it! But perhaps do regular self scans to make sure your shoulders are not getting too tense.
