I believe I have all the grid references and some route map JPGs on my computer at home. I will try and remember to post the references here tonight. If you send me your e-mail address by personal message I'll pass the route maps on to you.

    Re: Llanbedr to Blaenavon

Does anyone know how muddy the hills on this race are this year? For some reason I haven't been to The Beacons this year and have no idea what the conditions are like up there at the moment.

Sorry - no idea how muddy the route is for the race, as my following questions shows . Can anyone let me know which are the right OS maps for the race on Saturday ?

    Many thanks !

    Pete

The current edition of the Eastern Brecon Breacons 1:25000 Explorer map (OL13) covers the entire race.

Some older editions don't cover the final stages of the race over the Blorenge and into Blaenafon though.

Alternatively the current Black Mountains 1:50000 Landranger map (161) will do it.

As for mud; I don't think it'll be too bad underfoot with another couple of dry breezy days between now and then.

    Hi Pete

Getting lost on the urban sections through Abergavenny and Blaenafon is almost guaranteed unless you have your wits about you!

    See you there

Abergavenny is OK - but the back streets of Blaenavon are where the navigational skills are really required!

    Tempted

Being a fair weather run, will decide tomorrow am if it seems like a good idea - general fitness pretty poor at the moment (still trying to get recent skiing out of the legs!) but fancy a good day out.
