Although I'm 'popping up' to Wasdale soon so can't really complain.
You can console yourself that despite my relative close proximity to the hills, in the last couple of races that we have both featured you have beaten me by a rather large margin!

    That helps a bit

6k last night with a 1k effort, not a bad run found it a bit cold.

Last of 5 days consecutive running for me today: 41.5mi so far with about 5-6000ft of climb (all on road). Off in a bit for another 5 or so miles, before going for a 10k with the missus tonight. 50+ miles all in. Target 1 for ultra training hit.

Next target is 2 consecutive 20+ mi runs, probably weekend after next.

Great club race last night with 29 runners

only 5 miles but with 1700ft

Had a great tussle with PaulE before a great wurzle up a forest fire break gave me an edge. Tough climbing race with some flying descents.

Excellent trip round an extended Kentmere Horseshoe, starting near Staveley and including Sour Howes and Sallows (two new Wainwrights for me) at the start and Skeggles Water at the end. Fairly bright, couple of hail showers and a chilly wind.

Got stopped by a German girl on the summit of Froswick. She was heading south towards the Garburn Pass and wanted to know if this was the right way to walk to Shap via Haweswater! Good job she stopped and asked.

Similar day for me, except I did the horseshoe from Kentmere, didn't see a soul until descending Kentmere Pike. Good way to break up the 6hr drive to Angus.

Same race as Ian last night, but took a shorter route through a forest which turned out much worse and cost me a couple of minutes...

Still an excellent run out in one of my favorite valleys (Alport).

Good club run last night down to Esholt and over to Springfield Woods then back via Hawksworth.
