Cracking gentle, sociable run but very thick clag over ox stones.

Hoping to sneak a quick road run in.between sorting house sale tedious paperwork...
nice route the PaulE, was gonna run over that way but ended up staying more local

12 miles from Snake Top to Grindslow Knoll, then north and along the edges to Mill Hill and back to ST. Got bogged to the hmm hmms. Very boggy. If the freeze comes as predicted it will make a Kinder crossing easier next weekend.

Explored from Illingworth, Holmfield up Calderdale Way route to the top of Swales Moor, along Ringby Lane, down into Shibden Valley, along Scout Wood....fell into a brook. Knee deep mud all the way up Shibden valley to Shibden head...another tumble over some hidden barbed wire (ouch) ...looked like Stig of the Dump running through Mountain...back down to Ogden.
In drier conditions that will be a great route. Just over 8 miles, some stiff climbing and a paddle in the stream. Today much of it was un-runnable...scarcely walkable. Great fun though.

Steady couple of miles up and down local woods with the dog tonight. Don't really go running with the dog as he's a bit mental but I was very pleased I tried again as he just trotted in front mostly and didn't pull my arm off as usual. Looking forward to experimenting with routes and distance with him.
Had a good stretch off and some torture on the foam roller, shins feel achy..

soooooo unfit. tried the scales yesterday and I've put a stone on...damn you christmas....

well after running 5 miles in the last 4 weeks i went from Snake summit to Grindslow and back. Having taken first Ohlys route to the trig then mine to grindslow I wondered what all the fuss was about. never went deeper than ankle deep??? I had planned to return via mill hill but the slabs were so slippy I returned via the marked path to the dF ,OMG. now that was boggy thigh deep a few times. won't be going that way IF i run the race then back over trig where I saw my first runner. might set off to Crowden and then see how it goes. icing my knees now. they don't feel too bad

Nice trot over Black Hill, Black Ches Head and down to Dovestones. 8 miles and 1100 ft of ups. Good to see the Rucksack Club on their annual meander from Marsden to Edale.
