Last run before I hit Scotland for 10 days. 9.5 miles around Ilkley Moors. Very muggy. Sweated bucket loads. Looking forward to a couple of cold ones tonight.

Tired day.. steady 20k.. averaged 6:12 min miling over sandy trails... http://app.strava.com/activities/69539983
I could have vomited by the end....
Good one... not sure here.. it said 28C when I left the car an 26 C when back... reckon you can take a good 2 C Off that... it was the sand which really killed.. I had two miles at 6:30.. which whilst OK pace wise really hurt me..
Nice session tonight.. well 4.6 miles this am to loosen up.. then run to track, met up with 6 runners, then 10 * 600m reps in the forest, around 2:05.. so around 5:30-5:40 pace..GPS was way off in the bush so just going off what they said distance was and my splits.. 405 garmin really struggles in the forests, signal seems a lot worse than the 310...
12.2 miles tonight with all the warm and running too and from..
10.6m on the hill after work. Properly fun tonight.

Not a bad few days..
Fri, steady 8 miler.. just under 7 m m pace..
Sat lazy day on the beach, steady 14 miler.. 7:25 pace..hot day
Sunday am: 2 mile warm up, 12k race, won, but no competition.. 7 mins clear in 7 mile race.. pm: 4.8 miles steady.. 8:30 pace or so. hot humid day.. high 20s
monday: 10 miles 6:45 pace.. felt really comfortable.. but much cooler.. makes such a difference.. but also showed how yesterdays race was just a nice tempo session...
Supposedly heat is the new height.. and that heat training is similar, basically harder work.. been pretty dissapointed in my training since the worlds.. felt flat but maybe its just a heat humidity thing.. so not getting too worried by pace at the moment.. half marathon this weekend.. but again 28-29C forecast...
You not doing the karkonski Iain? I'm a bit alarmed by the 30C + forecast although I was expecting it really, just hoping for something a bit more bareable
No.. with the World Trail Champs, I wanted to recover and get good training in for Berlin... as it was, running that and Sierre Zinal the week after would be too much, Zinal fits in better and is more of a classic race, but could only do one anyway.. after the Worlds I was selected as a reserve but I was only planning on running then to make a point, but I did that at the worlds so would rather focus on Berlin..
Good luck, if its humid it will be brutal. The good thing is its almost all high level so hopefully should only be low to mid 20's on the ridge.. and the first climb will be early enough to avoid the heat...
Got a bit giddy up here in Scotland this morning & headed out at 5 a.m. Only 5 miles up Meall Mor towards Loch Lednock Reservoir, but the views back towards Ben Lawers & Loch Tay took my breath away. Now for a family walk up Ben Lawers. Happy days.
