Well we had a tough weekend running this week, it was our clubs Winter festive of running, this really tests your powers of recovery and fitness. Friday night was a 4.2 mile road race, Saturday Morning was 5 miles cross country race and today was 5 miles hilly trail race. The winner is the one with the lows time when all three races are added together, three races in 3 days. Somehow I managed to win it. After the race this morning I then did a steady 10 mile road run to round it off.

One high light other than the great club catering and organisation was our guest runner today, Colin Donnelly, unfortunately he is getting over a injury so wasn’t running at his full speed.

Steady 11.5 mile, 1,500 ft today instead of the trigger. Cold and icy. Took a fall too!

    Not much running this week.

24.3m and 3868ft ascent, with 3 one hourish sessions on the Turbo.

Went out to Glen Clova Fri-Sun, quite impressed by the new club hut. The bio disc was impressive, but that's the last time I ever want to inspect it. Once it starts getting used I'm happy to steer well clear.

Still, 3 days on the hills, good to be out in crampons on some good snow higher up.

Hour down the gym then 3.8 mile steady run with the dog. Longer run tomorrow to blow the dust off.

5 mile club trail race, quite hilly and muddy in parts, I managed to win it, then 16 miles steady road run back home. 73 miles for the last 7 days including two 5 mile races.

Thanks Mick, it is only a small club mind, so not that high standard, but it is my local one. I have been getting my as*e kicked all though the winter League, which is X-country and trail races since I had to take time off with a Injury which I picked up completing the BG at the end of August. I hoped to be competitive by Christmas with the leading runners, but didn’t really think I would be beating them. Must be all that base endurance fittest I gain in the BG training.
