    Hi Murt

I haven’t run with the weight vest for 2 months, the rucksack is only 5kg to 10kg most of the time. I have ran with a rucksack for over 10 years (to work and back) so the body is quite used to it. The knee pain started on Sunday about ½ way though a 15.5 mile road run (no rucksack) although I had raced 6 miles X-C just before.

The road miles are another thing and quite possibility tie in with the problem, it kind of part of the course when training for a road marathon I guess, I suspect the knee is a “tracking issue”.

I have booked in for the BG over two days at the start of March, two back to back 12 hour days should be good LAMM training.

That's reassuring. Fingers crossed nothing too serious then & will hopefully see you at the LAMM.

It's the pesky midges I'm most worried about so I'd be more likely to bring one of them midge-eater thingamabobs!

April is already pretty full for me: Lakes Mountain 42 (5th), Ann Waltz (19th) & 3 Peaks (26th) but coming up to Glenmore during the 3rd week in May to do the Cairngorm/MacDui/Braeriach circuit I mentioned.

Will either be really fit (relatively) or really knackered for the LAMM

Good day out today doing a bit of BGR prep. Due to the snow and ice on Snowdon couldn't do my planned route of heading for Yr Aran and then dropping to Watkin Path so had to be content with Llanberis to Snowdon via Elio and Cyngorian there and back. Plus a few quarry lanes at the end to get 18 miles in. 7300 feet of ascent. I was really surprised how hard packed the snow slab was on Snowdon with the last bit up to the summit banked out in places.

7 miles on local hill, just trying the knee out, niggled before the run but didn't get any worse and now if anything feels a bit better than before the run, I will try to ramp up the training from here.
