Took it easy last week after my recent races.

    Did a reasonable session on Thursday night.... hill reps, 3 x long (300m), 6 x medium (200m), 12 x short (125m).

Next race is the 10 Peaks which I'm hoping will take around 16 hours, it's only a fortnight away so can't really train specifically any more for it, so next couple of weeks will just be a case of doing the club sessions and some easy long runs, to get me on the start line feeling fresh and free of injury.

90 minutes steady on a gentle incline, certainly no more than about 1800ft total ascent.

Followed by some reasonable sets on the inclined leg press, 3 x 20 x 130kg

Went out for a 30min effort, didn't even get to 3m.
    Training and weight loss required.
    Positive is I got out

    Very tough track session tonight...

    5 x 200m, 10 x 400m, 5 x 200m

Latched onto a faster group who were knocking out the 400m reps in 80secs... kept up for 8 of the reps but then couldn't hold it. Probably not that fast by everyone's standards, but was just about on my limit. The final set of 200m reps were painful.

On the 200m reps the recoveries were 200m jog (90 secs approx) and the 400m reps were 100m walk/jog (60 secs approx)

That is very good. With such short recoveries 80 secs for 8 lots of 400m is moving some and makes it a very threshold/aerobic session. You must now have a very good aerobic base.

I may well have been "moving some" in my last session, but I could still feel it today...!

6 reps of around 800 metres, including about 400m moderately uphill, 200m on the flat, and 200m down a slightly awkward downhill.

Still feeling Tuesdays session in my legs, I did manage to front the group tonight, albeit overall a slower group than my track session. Although the main reason I was at the front was the downhill, which would be equivalent to a downhill valley track, but gave the rest of the group (road/xc/track runners) a myriad of problems.

so a decent run out, but still a long way to go in order to be able to really push myself to the limit on both club sessions in a week.
