Beacon Hill and Longcliffe Quarry: 83 minutes, my longest run for at least two months. There is no formal public access to the disused Longcliffe Quarry, but it is known and visited by many locals. On the path down into the quarry today, I passed three blokes each clutching a Costa Coffee cup. [Other overpriced beverages are also available.] One of them asked me, "Excuse me, is it a safe place to be here?" [I'm not sure of the accent, possibly Greek.] "Yes, if you're sensible" was all I could think of to reply. By the way, the nearest Costa Coffee outlet is a good three miles away, in Loughborough town centre.
