yes we did Mike - bit of a dilemma to find the right trod - very disorientating in that horrid condition, anyway, Huw seemed to think it was quicker and preferred it but I'm going to avoid as yes agree with you on the not as smooth as you think opinion!!

It was ok and is pretty runable but the time I get there i think my best option on tired legs is straight up as oppose to Moses. My ankle/ligament injury really took a battering on that trod and I'm suffering for it today

    so sticking with plan A

15miles in the woods with 5 mates. Legs are very very tired today (suppose the Rydal Round was reasonably hard two days ago).
Today was supposed to be the beginning of marathon training but we set off like it was a 5 mile time trial. Second lap was slower than first by a minute and by my third I was just too knackered to do owt other than briskly jog round to get the miles in.

60mins and 7seconds in the Woods of Essex.. very good kick up the pants for me!!

Really enjoyed it although felt like I'd never ran at times and felt a bit sick some of the way - I think that tells you enough!!

Great to be out in trails though - have really missed off roading - hopefully I can find a new training partner who'll help me back to fitness
