    Re: Today's Training

Did an evening race from Bolsterstone tonight - my first proper run on tarmac ever (other than back from the pub...) Should have been 6.3 miles and 945 feet, but I followed one of the locals off down the wrong road, so it was more like 6.6 miles and 1050 feet.

Calves are sore tonight, but switching my style to mid/forefoot strike seems to have got rid of the hip and knee pain I've always got from running more than 2 or 3 miles on hard surfaces so I'm chuffed.

I find this works for me too. Get the tight calves as well, but these t'ain't so bad after a while of running like this.

Fairly fast, hilly 5miler round the lanes and tracks near me this morning. Very misty.

Military fitness session on Clapham Common last night, plus the 35-minute run there from work and a fast 10-minute run back home after.

Knee and hamstring knackered today - par for the course ....

Glad to hear it - calves aren't too bad this morning, hopefully be able to do a few miles back on home ground (MUD) tonight!

Started off with nicky and keith, then keith and I pulled ahead a bit... but he took a wrong turning towards underbank so we ended up a minute or 2 back and had to re-overtake nicky on the top road, I overtook keith in the last couple of miles after he'd pulled ahead up strines road.

Hopefully I'll be there next week, depends if I'm on family visiting duty or not.
