Mirehouse to Skidda over Carlside, to Jenkin Hill back up over Littleman and back up to Shidda down to Long side and back up Carlside and down to Mirehouse. Was 4th time up Skidda this week due to generally poor snow conditions in the Lakes through out the week One day it took me an hour to go up side of Lonscale fell as the snow was knee deep every stride!! That one mile felt like 10!

    Re: Today's Training

Yesterdays speed session was just under 5 miles on the Silkstone Shuffle

    todays was HILLS HILLS HILLS

From Snake Inn I joined GreenFlash and two others on the Kinder Dozen. I only had time spare for the first 7 climbs before heading home.

Forcast was for light winds, sunshine with the occasional bit of hill clag and odd shower.

We had thick clag, hail, snow, rain and gales.

Very heavy going through the snow drifts and mud but great fun once warm again

    12.5 miles with 6,000ft

One more day left of the long weekend but the stats are building up.

Strid Wood trail from Storiths, up to the aqueduct and back down the other side, 6m 1000'...no seriously the Strid Wood trail has that cumulative ascent from Storiths . Lots of daytrippers around and lots of wild garlic coming up in the woods, collected a few leaves to flavour tonight's tea.

First time out since Blubberhouses 25 last Sunday, bar some gentle wintry hiking in the Lakes. Introduced my daughter to a lap of Thruscross reservoir. Now have 2 weeks to warm up for 3 Peaks and a week to taper.

I agree. It packs alot of variety into a short run. My young 'un enjoyed it too.

12 miles 3000' on my local Cheesden Brook - Ashworth Moor - Knowl Hill - Top of Pike route. Apart from a bit of hail at the start the weather was bright for most of the run.

Short run today, with the dog on the way back from a family lunch. Dropped off at Mam Nick, ran round the back of Mam Tor and then down to Castleton. 2.1miles, 30 feet climb, 900 feet descent!

Good workout for the calves too, even if the lungs didn't have much to do.
