13.3 miles, 2450 ft climbing in 2:31. Super hop up Chew Valley from Dovestones to Chew, across Laddow Moss to Black Chew Head. Down to the PW & , yes, up to Black Hill, down to Wessenden Head. A quick ship up West Nab to see the moor fires which have been burning for four hours now. Down Meltham Moor & Oldfield springs, along the water courses and home to Slawit.

    Re: Today's Training

    Yesterday's training:
    11 mins.
2.5kms inner-city road race (700-runner obstacle course Vienna). Friend spotted me on the tele! Got to the finish tape just behind celebrity runner and flung my arms in the air like a winner. Entry fee was €15 so there was a €10,000 cheque for the Pink Ribbon Cancer Charity Appeal handed over at the end of it all.
    Today's training:
    bike/TV

12 miles on the roads this morning using the Cheshire loop line near Speke up to the Rocket and back towards Sefton Park. I had hoped to do 17 miles today but after being under the weather for most of the week cut is short. Lovely foggy morning to start then bright sunshine.

Storiths - long way round to Simon's Seat - Valley of Desolation - Storiths.

    1.45 in total.

A bit chilly but only 1 layer required.

No rain whilst running and ground still wonderfully dry.

    Buffers shut though on Mondays.

Ran 13-14kms of woodland trails (1hr 40min) with Mick Jagger [an even bigger bang] and bagged an Austrian alp outside Vienna. The 'Sophienalpe' summit is a large plateau, the highest point being Exelberg. It is 516mtrs above sea level. Nearby there's a pub, a radio mast and a car park.
