    Re: Today's Training

2 x 10km runs on my 2 days off werk (10km is "long-ish" for me, so 2 days in a row I am pleased with ). Roughly 0ft though I am afraid!

Back in werk now for 2x12 hour shifts + 7 hours-ish travelling so no running til the weekend

Sonnenberg (Sun Mountain!) tops out at a mere 484mtrs. It's in the Leitha Hills, near the Austro-Hungarian border. Midday I ran to the radio mast on the top and then back down to the start point at 182mtrs. Up in 40 mins. Down in 30.
The Beatles were rock and rolling over Beethoven on the mp3 (must get some Chuck Berry to put on) and the sun was smiling happily on the Sun Mountain trail.

Gentle 32 mins flat round a reservoir yesterday morning followed by 4.9 mile hilly road race in Ilkley last night. Steady recovery run today for 40 mins and 23 mile Malhamdale Meander tomorrow.
Think I'm going to insert some flat speedwork in May, as I'm in danger of training myself to run slowly.

No, though I'm Yorkshire born and bred and used to do cycle touring round these parts in the early 70s, I've been away for decades (apart from 18 months in Catterick in 87-88 and 2 years at Topcliffe 91-92, still got my Ripon Runners vest upstairs). Now at Harrogate for 2 years, I hope, so I'm cramming as much in as I can before moving on.

I've joined the Harrogate club, the FRA, LDWA and YHA to assist in the task.

    hill reps:
walk 80mtrs hd+ up almost vertical hill
jog down 15-bend serpentine to bottom of hill
    and do it again...and again...etc.
(actually 8 reps it was and then I was basically f*****)

First run for 9 days so drove out of the city up to Washburn valley for a lap around Fewston reservoir - didn't want anything hilly but Hamstring fine on that 34 mins.
