    Tuesday - fast 9 miles
    Wednesday - Steady 5.5 miles
Friday - Threshold four miles plus hill sprint session
    Saturday - Solid 18 miles

However, major ankle crunch around mile 13 of Saturday's jaunt, meaning Sunday and today have been enforced rest days if I have any hope of making Tiger's Todger on Wednesday. Very sore

Did the Coiners Fell race (7 miles, 1100') at Mytholmroyd as a loosener after 23 miles on Sat around Malham. Pleasant course, some hail, a bit of almost swimming.

rest today (and work for tomorrow)
2 days of orienteering and after fast racing in the relays on Sun I have caused a recurrent injury to flare up - need to be right by weekend for Fellsman. Tomorrow is meant to be club handicap, may have to bail out or just go slow (so no change there some would say!)

How was Malham BL ? I entered, but decided to run with my son at Ilkley Harriers instead ! A top 10 finish I trust ?

    Re: Today's Training

Very pleasant day out. I think I was the fastest round in 3:52 with another lad from Liverpool, but there were the usual LDWA eccentricities. Some runners started with the walkers at 0830, a couple set off at 0840 and the rest of us at 0900. Nobody came past us and I think we did a faster time than the rest.
A couple of the grids were a tad out ('that's where the check point used to be, but not anymore) and a couple of checkpoints were just waypoints, so we spent a wee while searching for something that didn't exist, but that's all part of the fun. Just sending the cheque off for the Settle Saunter for another 24 mile training run. Just need to carry the form over into proper races. Seems the 3 Peaks was simply a bad day for me, I think I made the elementary mistake of running somebody else's race and not my own and paid too much attention to the cut-off times.

No training today. Rest day and 6 hour brew day (5 gallons of best bitter, Maris Otter malt with Challenger hops).

Mmmm, I'm seeing a worrying parallel between your slow 3 Peaks time & beer intake. 5 gallons the night before a race is not good preperation !
Are you doing the Wharfedale Marathon ?

You're confusing brewing with drinking. Simple rule of thumb that's served me well these last 30 odd years' of running: No more than half a gallon before a race and no more than a gallon after one. Mark my words well!

Took me a while to work that one out, though.
