anyone got the new Walsh yet?

I want something as a longer distance shoe the new Walsh look like they may fit the bill, also I like the look of the sole unit as a multi terrain jobbie. Anyone got these and care to offer an objective review

Yep had a pair for a couple of months now covered around 200 miles in total longest continious outing being 33 miles, they have given me no problems or cause for concern yet (but like all other shoes care is needed on wet Limestone).
I find them to be a good fit and they accomadate my Bunnions nicely

They will definately be my shoe of choice for the Lakeland 100.

Sorry to drag this old thread up. Any more opinions on these trail shoes ? Not heard much about them or seen many pairs out and about.

Funnily enough Filthy Rich asked me to write up my thoughts for these shoes as I bought apair 2 weeks ago.

Already done a fair in them (Walsh Spirits), Yorkshire 3 Peaks, one local race, 3 legs of the BG and tonight MR training.

Very comfortable, bought to replace Highlanders, similar weight but maybe slightly more built up, good toe protection, Excellent grip on steep heather, bracken and good grip on rock. However, they've not been any where near rain yet so rock, heather etc have all been bone dry, also were a little too built up to do a short fell race in but would be great for a long trail race.

All in all I've been very impressed, I'll keep you posted when the shoes reach 500 miles.

Bought some Orocs at the same time to use on wet lakeland rock and had them with me this weekend but blow me, it hasn't rained since I bought them.....But now the summer solstice has passed winter will soon be here and I'll get to use them properly....!!!!

I have some and love them. Great grip and enough support. Higher than fell shoes and heavier but thats always going to be the case. The insole did ruck up and seemed a bit flimsly so I put a different one from some old road shoes.

    Overall, very pleased.

Now you mention it this happened to mine on the long descent to Wasdale on the BG. Wasn't a problem though.

Just about to replace mine after 400 + miles the upper fabric is begining to split furthest I have run in them on one trip has been 60 miles, no complaints a big plus is that they dry quickly after getting wet.

A great all rounder in my opinion
