    Shorts

    Hi,

Just wondered if anyone would recommend any good shorts.

I've browsed through other threads and Montane Sonic get mentioned, but wondered if anyone had any others they get on well with (that were maybe less than £30).

Or is it just a case of, shorts are shorts pretty much?

    Cheers.

Running Bear's own brand pertex shorts are the best I've ever had. Windproof, comfortable and a short fit (not for everybody then!) for range of movement. Lots of colours and great customer service at RB. Highly recommended. Only £10.50.

Small fit, so maybe go a size up if you order. My waist is around 30" - 31" and I need a size medium.

Not so sure that shorts are just shorts. I have a couple of pairs of Nike shorts that I don't like to wear when running longer distances because of, erm, chafing issues.

    Hi,

Thanks for that. That's really helpful. Funny how it often seems to be cheaper, shop's own brand things that do the trick.

    Will have a look.

Decathlon own brand ones do me fine. 6 quid a pair i think, certainly less than a tenner. Comfy, short, light and black. What else do you need?

Got a pair of running bear shorts today, definitely glad I got medium!!

Now look like an 80's footballer, but as they are comfortable I don't care.

Also got socks which are really good!!

I've got a couple of pairs of Nike shorts that have been fine for me (only up to 17 miles though) - no chafing whatsoever! They actually fit me too, lots of other ones I've tried the M is too small and the L too big. Bought 2 pairs cos they were going cheep cheep at Sportshoes.

    Re: Shorts

I ended up buying some Odlo shorts from Lakes Runner in Ambleside. £30 so not cheap, but I'm really pleased with them, and happy to give Lakes Runner my custom.

Originally ordered some Ronhill ones from a seller on Amazon, but they reminded me a bit of my old PE shorts from school, and I wasn't that pleased at paying £3.97 for postage when they took about 2 weeks to get to me so returned them.

    I use these http://www.timetorun.co.uk/index.php?page=shop&action=viewproduct&pid=385&vie w= : cheap, light, comfortable.

If you like baggy shorts, worth a try.
