Well, that was a fast blast (for some!). Felt my late lunch rebelling as I reached the moor. Thanks to the organisers for putting on a grand evening race with plenty of grub choice after - I went for the pale ale and half a pork pie! Nice neck of the woods.
Thanks to all 58 of you who came, we had twice as many as last year, our first race.
It was all a bit rushed after work but your race went according to plan.
Many thanks to the marshals and especially Johnnie (and family) for flagging, sweeping and de flagging.
Thanks for supping and scofffing. Hopefully next time we'll be indoors for prize giving and results.
It is likely that next year we'll be running it alongside the fete. Which was a blast and went on till late with music and a bar, and all sorts of fum stuff.
Let me know what you think of the Friday night mullarkey.
Here are the results from the senior race: I can't upload the results the file is too big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now for the Juniors:
Well this was the first time we had done the Junior races and I have to hold my hands up, mistakes were made, SORRY. Somehow you all decided you work out your own route! It appears I was a marshall short and my maths was not good. I was trying to be as fair as I could to all competitors. The mistake I made was mathematical, and didn't do some tricky arithmatic. BUT that (working out sums) is difficult when everyone is badgering the timekeepers and the organiser. Remember we are all volunteers and are trying to do our best. We will learn from the mistakes and if we do junior races again, we'll hope fully get it right.
I hope you enjoyed the race you ran, what ever that was...and will come back again, when we will get it right.
Any way here are the correctly time adjusted results after convening a special race results jury.

I know my lad, Hartley had a great time. Thanks to all the organisers and marshals, it was a great atmosphere and a lovely venue. The confusion didn't detract from the smiles on the kids faces, it happens!
Thanks again
thanks tubber,I really appreciate that ^^^^^
I ran the senior race route this morning, and you are right, it is a lovely venue.
Hope you do put the junior races on again, it was a really nice course (both the planned courses and the ones they made up!)
All the kids seemed to enjoy themselves which surely is the whole point.
It was also a great venue with the kids enjoying the playground before and after the races.
Many thanks for all your efforts in putting the races on

I hadn't realised it was you, but I think we were running at a similar pace Ady - we reached Crow Hill at much the same time. Until I sprained my calf on the last run-in that is, and had to hobble to the finish.
I take it you were the Ady who finished in 20th?
Cheers, Bill Johnson
