I was wondering what the gradient on the first climb was and how far in metres you run/walk up it as the path looks at least at some point zig zag. If someone knows i am going to record the data so i can keep a record and use it in future training.

Err.. one in steep.
Tao begets one. One begets two. Two begets all things.
Well...my Garmin Forerunner was set up to stop recording when I stopped moving when I did the AW last year. Suffice to say the gradient was sufficient to slow me down to the exent that the GPS was convinced I wasn't moving at all.
Oh Dear Ice axe needed to penetrate the ground and pull yourself up. It looks like 1:10 or so but not sure.

The way up through the crags/scree is a bit of a pant filler - be a sheep and don't stray up this way!
