Anyone used one of these? They look good for hydration and for reaching bars/gels in waist pockets on long runs/races but has anyone put one to the test?

I just treated myself to an OMM 10l last drop. Worth checking out.

My island is very nice
The 'Last Drop' must be quite a bit bigger and bulkier though?
I've been looking at the haglofs ace s which is 5 litres including the bladder, and the north face enduro boa - not sure of the capacity of this, and yes it's more expensive but seems like a great product. Very comfy to wear, great boa system to prevent sloshing and provide pressure to the water. Also has removable pockets on the belt which can come in handy for adding more pockets if required or removing them to save weight etc.

There is also a really stripped down version call the e-race :

though i can't find anywhere that has it in stock.

Maybe I should consider the North Face ones but I have been less than impressed with their stuff in the past - their business model seems based on 'branding' over quality - and their concept stores really turn me off......but I'll take your advice and have a good look.
This would be another option that you may not have considered:

Both this and the northface will have been developed with input from Killian Journet and Dean Karnazes respectively and that surely can only be a good thing.

Looks like they have another one on the way which looks quite interesting:

Look at the one Killian Journet is wearing on the home page. Even though you can't actually see the whole pack it looks very nice
