    massage after effects

a friend is training to be a osteopath and has to get some hours massaging.
i volunteered myself,i have never had one before.
    despite running over 30 years.
    well i feel shattered.
i feel as though i have been hit by a bus.
i dont ache where i normally ache in a morning but ache somewhere new.
i have drank loads of water.
is it becuase my body is struggeling to get rid of the scar tissue or something else.
i have been offered another massage but a bit unsure what to do.
    any advice/observations?

I get that same feeling after a massage, usually takes a day or so to get over it, not sure why, I usually go in the evening, rest the whole of the next day and run the morning after that. So effectively two nights sleep afterwards, but as with most things, it's what works best for you.

I go to a remedial masseur every month or so. If I have an injury that can ache afterwards but don't feel shattered. I wouldn't go too close to a race and he always quizzes me as to what my plans are anyway.

I would talk to the physio and get some professional advice if you are concerned. Give them a ring.
