    Well done Gary!

Just watched the footage of the memorable day. It is inspiring and plans spring into my head as I think about it now. Fantastic weather too.
    I rely upon my luck!

Those vids appear to show that a metronomic pace and a pair of sticks seem to be good allies in completing the BGR. Each shot showed Gary moving at pretty much the same pace right through.

Impressive and inspirational stuff - nice one!

PS - not sure if i can bring myself to use sticks after years of berating them

I've rarely used sticks, but they definitely improve pace on gradual ascents. if your legs are totally shot at the end, they are also good for descents. I'd at least ask your pacers to take them.

Hope you have as good a day as Gary, ST.

Fabulous stuff, those video clips - mesmeric watching John film that descent, I was watching the ground all the way wondering where to place my feet!
